A world of contradictions, a different view on textiles
Crystals, little miracles of nature, fascinate me. When I looked closer, I noticed their details, and got inspired by vivid colours and symmetric structures. Their characteristics are so wonderful and manifold!
They can have so many kinds of textures and alluring transparencies. Some of them reveal a shimmering brightness; others look more like soft clouds. The crystals are constructed like a symmetric structure; this 3D idea has inspired me to create fabrics with extended symmetries.
In my collection I used materials and techniques to match the beauty of the crystalline construction. The fabrics are full of contradictions. I play with elements of softness and hardness, with movement, with alternating textures and depth. The draping’s of all the fabrics have another feeling. I wanted to bring with my hand made couture textiles something different.
