Dest Journey through the Ukraine
Lately, things have gone bad in the Ukraine. There`s a great divide between Kiev, the capitol of the Ukraine and Crimea, a peninsula in the south. Pro Russian versus pro Western sentiment.
Dest visited the Ukraine back in 2009 and still cherishes some good memories. Great adventure. The country where roses still smell like.. well, roses.. where the largest lambs-meat sandwich is still only 2 euros. Where you can buy a freezing pivo on every streetcorner and you can actually drink it right on the spot without getting a fine. The country where you`ll find a black gay man having a bitch fight with the train attendant going from Kiev to Odessa at 20 miles an hour.
You don’t speak the language? Ah well.. You just can`t book a room at the notary and the local pharmacy does not sell orange juice, I’m quite sure of that now. And the old lady in the picture? I’m still convinced she made me a marriage proposal.
