During Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, From October 18, 2014, “the doors are open to the future in a city that for nine full days is buzzing with innovation and creative energy. Guests can witness smart solutions and inventive design, shaping up the future trends in the industry. Get inspired by the latest work of more than 2,000 designers, meet the designers and experience the beauty and power of Dutch design“.

Dutch Design Week (DDW), emerged from the Day of Design in 1998, twelve years to become the largest design event in Northern Europe. DDW takes place every year in the last week of October in Eindhoven and enjoy reputation far beyond the country’s borders. DDW provides a platform for designers and is the link between design, technology and people. Last year, the event gathered 250 000 participants.

The program for 2014 offers a balanced mix of new talent, established names and reputable agencies. In the whole of exhibitions, product launches, business events (seminars, networking events), award ceremonies, a children’s program, parties and music almost every conceivable disciplines and aspects of design are discussed. You will find smart solutions. Inventive design. New perspectives. Discover the upward force of design, get inspired by the pioneering work of a remarkable amount of designers, and be guaranteed an optimist.

As an entrepreneur, you know you already have to keep up with the trends of tomorrow. The success of your business depends largely on the distinctiveness that you offer your customers. The Design Perron

The Design Perron is a Boulevard of Brute Design Talent. This initiative, by designer Meike van Schijndel, will take place for the second time at the Fuutlaan 12-14. In addition to the indoor exhibits, there are also a dozen exhibitions outside in containers. This year there are many young designers and design collectives. There will be several events (ao Cor Unum Ceramics), and on Wednesday October 22 at 18.00 there will be a Design Perron Party, with a special show by Mondo Leone.

TAC

TAC has the ambition to turn its 2014 DDW presentation into an even more inspiring, diverse and amazing event. Visiting TAC feels like coming ashore on an island in the city. Here you can exchange exciting insights with artists and designers and experience the development of art, design, fashion, food and architecture in all its purity. Witness real craftsmanship and creativity in the various studios, exhibitions, workshops and lectures. The abundance and diversity found inside the industrial and picturesque TAC building take you to the source of Dutch and International Design. Give your senses a treat during an adventurous walk around the presentations and discover the story behind the designs of international and regional DDW participants.

The Klokgebouw/ The Clockbuilding

The Klokgebouw is a former Philips factory building at Strijp-S. In the Klokgebouw the three Dutch Universities of Technology (Eindhoven, Delft, Twente) present themselves for the first time at one location. Under the name Design United (3TU) they show the design of the future and the the role of technology. Expected highlights include Graduation Show of DAE, a Design Health Hackaton by Philips in the Philips museum, the exhibition and awards ceremony of Dutch Design Awards (DDA) and the Now futures evening on 23 October. This latest highlight is in collaboration with VPRO.

To visit the Klokgebouw visitors have to pay an entrance fee.

A58 – Eat & Meet – is a sustainable initiative by CoffeeYou & Inge’s Eettafel. The natural meeting-place during the exhibition Tilburg Ontwerp + Design Eindhoven at the Designhouse in Eindhoven. During this DDW we serv daily Breakfast, Lunch and a Regional surprise Diner* based on local organic foods. Our bar is daily opened till 22.00hrs.
