Ice by Daniel Libeskind

A triangular of refracting and splitting light

Daniel Libeskind is not afraid of sharp lines. You can see that in both his buildings and his furniture designs. This new chandelier seems to exist of shards or lightning. The Ice Chandelier for Lasvit was presented by the starchitect during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Ice Chandelier is designed for the Czech factory Lasvit. The chandelier is made of glass cells of clear glass, blown into rectangular molds. The individual compartments are suing clustered in a series of triangular patterns. The impressive 1m equilateral triangle composed of geometric elements captures the light, refracting and splitting it into prisms, so columns glow differently.

The composition of the lamp is easy to adjust the individual pieces can be placed together in a modular way to create different layouts and so can be uniquely tailored to a wide variety of spaces.
