Architecture: Zaha Hadid for Roca London
The Roca London Gallery
On October the 13th, proud Zaha Hadid from Zaha Hadid Architects and Roca, opened together the entirely new, industry-leading space, the Roca London Gallery, on the Imperial Wharf near Chelsea Harbour. Zaha Hadid Architects was commissioned to shape this unique concept. A concept inspired by the power of water, the ever-changing element that Roca London Gallery will bring to life.
Zaha Hadid and her team have designed a form that is not purely visual. The design combines precision and control and makes the visitor understand the relationship between the interior architecture and the design of Roca bathroom products as one.
Miguel Angel Munar, Senior Managing Director of Roca Bathroom Products Division commented: “It is essential for Roca to be present in a city like London. London is the basis for global design and innovation. London is also of great strategic importance for the expansion of our business in the future. Here we sit near the fire, here is the cream of international distributors and customers. The Roca London Gallery, Zaha Hadid has both our brand experience and our business philosophy combined in a perfect and unique interpretation.“
Zaha Hadid explains: “Our work integrates architecture and the complexity and beauty of natural forms. Using the movement of water the Roca London Gallery is smooth and polishederoded. This creates a set of dynamic spaces formed by a fascinating interplay between architecture and nature. “
